what is a research Participant (subject)?

Is a person who voluntarily takes part in human subject research.

A research subject is willing and able to give consent, to be the subject of the a research.

A research subject should be fully informed of what participation in a research trial requires. 

A research participant is different from individuals who are not able to give informed consent, such as children, infants, and animals.
